WERE YOU ABOUT TO ORDER THIS BOOK? THINK AGAIN.

SHAME!
SHAME!
SHAME!

*Someone* saw to it that the printer-distributor of this, my version of the story of the
inquisition held by that "certain order of antiquated history" to throw me out could not
very well be  removed from print because anything in it is untrue. It is all true. Nor was
it a copy of someone else's work -- allowing for fair use in the course of documenting my case that
I've been slandered, libeled and unjustly expelled, brief quotations from the accusers were
certainly used to demonstrate in their own words, and in my rebuttal to those words, that they
were in gross error. In their usual cowardly fashion, they used this to pressure the book off of the
market. My friends - and not friends - ponder this -- if the only excuse for censorship they can find is
a highly questionable "violation of copyright" of their own words used to slander me, what are they trying
to keep YOU from reading?

What do any people in any age want when they censor dissent? What kind of people do this sort of thing?
And why? Even my detractors should be offended by this.
The book - starts out with a famous quotation attributed to Pastor Martin Niemöller, a victim of the Nazis:
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

I imagine that your principal intention in publishing the book was to get your side of the story out, rather than to make boatloads of money (something not very likely through a Lulu edition, I would guess).

Absolutely correct.

If that is the case, you might consider releasing the book in PDF form. Once that started to get around, best of luck to anyone wanting to make it go away -- it would be out there, and probably never too hard to find, forever.

Indeed, a number of people have suggested this to me privately, and I am weighing my options, this one among them. I almost certainly WILL do this, but I need to run the matter by my legal team again.

Even if I agreed that the charges against you were valid and that the proceedings were conducted in a fair and professional manner, I would still be opposed to the secrecy about it all, and their rather bizarre and legally dubious means of enforcing it (copyright notices on official correspondence, etc.), particularly when combined with the blatantly disingenuous claim that all this secrecy is intended to protect your privacy -- to which all I can say is, anyone who believes that is a lot dumber than I am.

I think we all know whose "privacy" is being protected here. My case is - or was - an open book.

Litigious creeps. Ever thought of publishing with disinfo.com? I had a friend that published a book through them revealing dirt on De Beers diamond mining, no other publishing company wanted to touch it because they were scared of De Beers.

The funny thing is, my every dealing with thes "litigious creeps" as the operator of Hermetic.com, for example, has been polite and friendly, even when we disagreed.

Comparing that to the "also ran" team of ex-OTO, for the most part, the difference is striking.

The Caliph, for example, has gone out of his way to help me, on his own without my even asking, in materials related to my Golden Dawn research. That is hardly the action of some evil bastard simply out to fuck people over.

I think our host here has been hoist on his own petard, for the most part.

I'm with the others who have suggested that you distribute this electronically for free. Frankly I was taken aback when you decided to charge for it, given all your protestations about wanting to get the truth out there. It's not like the book has a particularly big potential audience!

Post a copy here and the rest of us will guarantee it is widely distributed...

Agreed. It is a pity though that TAG can't earn a little trickle of money for his troubles.

And no, litigiousness and censorship really does the group no favors at all. Any "moderate" or "on the fence" people who hear about this - anyone worth having in one's order - is bound to be put off by it. (I don't mean that to apply to anyone already in the Order with emotional/magical investment in it. But really, any prospectives ...)

Dammit! I was going to order this as soon as I went back to work (I've been on disability since having surgery earlier this month).

By all means, distribute free pdfs both to your network of supporters (you do have a network of supporters, you know) and on something like bittorent.

Once it's out there they won't be able to stop it (just take 5 minutes and down load a copy of Liber Agape if you've got doubts).

I still think your title is a little hyperbolic (we really are just bitching about some Fruity Little Club that we all had the embarrassing misfortune to take a little too seriously), but they really are coming off more and more like a poor man's Scientology.

When did I compare anyone to the Third Reich? Perhaps you saw a connection with the pictures of burning books? I didn't draw it. I have added a picture from the 1968 Democratic convention, the Chicago Mayor saying...something. The Chicago police are not stormtroopers, and Mayor Daley was not a member of the Gestapo, but I myself faced off with the Chicago police, and - well, I can but quote the Wiki piece on the late Senator Abraham Ribicoff:

"At the 1968 Democratic National Convention, during a speech nominating George McGovern, he went off-script, saying, "...and with George McGovern as president of the United States, we wouldn’t have to have Gestapo tactics (flustered, he said "sta-tactics") in the streets of Chicago." Many conventioneers, having been appalled by the response of the Chicago police to the simultaneously occurring anti-war demonstrations, promptly broke into ecstatic applause. As television cameras focused on an indignant Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley, lip-readers throughout America claimed to have observed him shouting, "F___ you, you Jew motherf_____." Defenders of the mayor would later claim that he was calling Ribicoff a faker..."

When a small pebble lands in a big pond there are small waves. When an organization of this size which stands for FREEDOM OF MAN TO DO AND WRITE WHAT HE WILL, but is a small pond none the less, that pebble makes large waves within the social network of the adherents. It goes to the heart of the order to censor a book when the "rights of man" is the minimal program of the Order in question. Why should a person's view be stifled when almost every order ritual asks the adherent to cast the old ways off and not be afraid to stand up free, without chains on the mind or body. Maybe it is a leap in the larger order of the drones of the world, but for the centrality in this context...Book burning IS book burning and most antithetical to the teachings of the order.

Actually, it was probably embarrassing when ONE particular Floridian 9th degree shows his orangutan backside to the whole world, and we can't have the "magickal link" man taken down a notch, for not having his mask of love and kindness plastered on his face (the mask that the order initiates see before they learn better)....so just like a five year old they stomped their feet and screamed 'Make it go away, or I'll tell" LOL!!!!

Some leadership eh?

I have heard the rationales, but I simply can find no reason to associate the present order with the provisions of Liber Oz. I am, by their lights, a non-member. I think they would acknowledge that I am a U.S. citizen, with all rights of any other citizen. It seems clear that their invocation of "copyright violation" has nothing to do with protecting their intellectual property or earnings, but rather is a device for undermining my right, as a non-member of their club not subject to their discipline (assuming such has any validity to begin with) to express my own opinion and perspective and to document same.

They can argue the case where a member is concerned. But unless they make a case for defamation (they don't-not to lulu anyway), they are simply going against their supposedly cherished fundamental sworn 'rights of man'.

Shame, shame shame on them.

No offense Allen, but the OTO is an oligarchic theocracy using quasi-fraternal methods. Once you're not one of the in-crowd (read: few, patched, proud & not so secret), in the midst of unfraternal treatment there's nothing to be mystified or angry about. The OTO is not an ethical, moral democracy bent on social justice and to put it in that context is casting an unfamiliar Light. To say that they're being unfair, unfraternal or undemocratic is counterintuitive given the open structure of the organization. If they can, they will and you should expect it.

And a California Corporation benefiting from the protections afforded in America. But I take your point.

Oh, sooooo true.....

To say that they're being unfair, unfraternal or undemocratic is counterintuitive given the open structure of the organization.

Is that what I'm saying? The essence of what I am saying is they used a lame excuse to step on my artistic effort, my free expression, my book. All I say is that is unacceptable to me and should be unacceptable to everyone, in or out of their club, who values freedom of expression.

If they can, they will and you should expect it.

And this action of theirs will ensure that something a lot of people had meant to get around to reading some day, or might never have even thought that much of, will instead be read by the curious, those wondering, as Lon described his initial burning of his first copy of Liber AL way back, what was in this little book to be so threatening.

Yes, I have already circulated a number of copies just in case, mostly beyond their reach -- whoever "they" may be. It just may not be the most efficient way of circulating this Work.

I agree. Why fif "they" not see this? Even a literal reading of the short comment tells the reader "It is wise to destroy this copy after the first reading." Whoever "they" may be, "they" don't want anyone to have that first reading of INQUISITION IN 21st CENTURY AMERICA, it seems. Wow, I must have done some powerful mojo.

Interesting is also lack of any creativity in Caliphates respond, everything is as usual, boring, dumb and childish threating with empty gun. Indeed not interesting but boring as usual. 2007-12-05 07:33 am UTC (link)
From what point? I said some truthful things about the order. After months of saying nothing, they unceremoniously suspended me and eventually expelled me under what I regard as higly prejudicial and irregular circumstance. All through this year-long process I kept a sort of a diary with documentation. I arranged with a print on demand service to distribute it at nominal cost, and suddenly the monograph was pulled down on strength of a dubious claim from "someone" that I was in violation of contract law (certainly not), or copyright law (not an open and shut matter-but I claim I am by-the-book protected by the "fair use" clauses). No effort was made to contact me before pressuring the print on demand service, who pulled the entire monograph down.

O complained here, and many, many people appear (justly) offended at this effective censorship of my side of the story.
